Letterbook, 1865.

Letterbook, July 3-20, 1865, of copies of correspondence relating to a Goodyear "India rubber" patent infringement case. Apparently, the owners of a small factory, John Miller and James Smith, and six other workers made hair combs from the patented material. The workers included George Eckert and his daughter Maggie, the daughter of one of the proprietors, Maggie Smith and Lorenzo Hirsch. Volume also contain journal entries for July 6-7, 1865.
